Abstract

Empire to adopt a new defensive regime aimed at achieving security in Hejaz and Medina. This was the creation of camel cavalry and Laborers Service (now known as the Engineering Corps), both had been the most important section of the army which the empire used at the end of the 19th century in building roads, railways and tunnels as well as defending the borders and achieving security in the whole region.. They had to wear Bedwin-shaped uniform, including a white chimese, black scarf and headband. The then Mayor of Medina, Fakhr Edeen Pasha, was responsible for leading the Camel troops. On the second day of Dhu al Hijja 1332 (October 2 1930 AD), the Ministries of War and Interior then issued a law approved by the Ottoman sultan, Speaker of the Shura Council and the Ministers of War, Navy and Interior, Justice Wakfs and Foreign Affairs for observing and implementing the disciplinary rules.
