Abstract

Abstract: Poets resort to Poetic imagery in order to create new connections between words in the linguistic system to create a larger linguistic field for expressing psychological, emotional states that persist in their minds and imaginations. Urdu Prose poem dealt with various topics with some uniqueness, due to the conditions of the Prose poem form, which was largely freed from inherited poetic restrictions and went long way in refining and improving its product. This uniqueness appears in all categories of the topic that this genre deals with.  The poetic imagery tool in Urdu Prose poem captured high-quality images that reflect mental and emotional state of the poets. This research adopted the method of analyzing the describing poetic images in Urdu Prose poem.  The research reached a set of results, the impotent of which is that the flexibility and vitality of the Prose poem helped Urdu poets a lot in drawing poetic images of superior quality and creativity, and a significant portion of this creativity has followed the trend of post-modernist themes in literature.
