Abstract

This research basically aims to provide a historical review of the emergence of feminist discourse and the condemnation of gender violence in Spanish narrative, as we create a panoramic vision of Spanish female writers from the Silver Age, meaning the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century. We will also conduct a study on some of the female stereotypes drawn in the imaginations of both sexes in this period.  Therefore, we start our research from a critical analytical study of feminist discourse and the condemnation of gender violence in the Spanish Silver Age, highlighting the social and historical contexts. Spanish narrative bears witness to the presence of bright female models. Thus, we have chosen two Spanish writers: Emilia Pardo Bazán in her story "El indulto" (1883) and Carmen de Burgos in her short novel "Ellas y ellos o ellos y ellas" (1917), for this study.
