Abstract

This article examines definitions of climate change, exploring their conceptual ambiguity. Originating from UN sources, these definitions require terminological clarification. The study highlights the importance of a precise definition, free from ambiguity, to enhance understanding of the phenomenon. It reveals a discrepancy between conceptual reality and existing definitions, which overlook certain factors, particularly the impact of animals on greenhouse gas emissions. The article calls for a revision and redefinition effort within expert committees to eliminate terminological confusion. It underscores the role of the onomasiological approach in analyzing pre-established definitions, advocating for a deeper reflection on climate change terminology
